For the benefit of all our neighbours and your fellow campers, we have a strict no noise from 10pm through to 7am and a no amplified music policy so if you like to spend your evenings chatting around the fire that’s not a problem but if you want to party then we’re not the site for you.

Please keep the noise to a minimum between:
  • 10pm — 7am

How do I make a reservation at The Hideaway?

As we are a family run business with a small staff, busy around the site, we are not always in the site office to answer your call or enquiry. You may leave a message on our voicemail, email us or preferably; familiarise yourself with the full content of the website and make your reservation for The Hideaway by clicking the button below:

We want to book a pitch next to our friends/family, how do we do this?

When booking online via our website; enter your arrival/departure dates and all other required details, then you will be presented with a drop-down menu showing the available pitches for your stay. Choose the pitch that is next to your friend’s (if it is available). We will try our very best to pitch you next to your friends/family, but please be aware that this may not always be possible, as we occasionally need to rearrange if the ground is unsuitable, or if someone has booked a pitch too small for their tent and have has to be moved to a larger pitch!

How do I book more than one pitch?

Each pitch needs to be booked separately. However, once you have entered your details for the first pitch you will be allocated a username and password which can be used to make further bookings — eliminating the need to enter all of your contact details again. You will just need to amend the numbers of adults/children/extras/etc in the drop down menu for booking additional pitches.

Can I amend my booking?

If you have booked the Flexible Rate you can amend your booking free of charge up to 14 days prior to arrival or, receive a 100% refund  Cancellations less than 14 days; 50% will be refunded.

The Non-Flexible Rate does not permit refunds or amendments under any circumstances.

I have a balance to pay for our booking with you, how do I pay this?

If the booking was made through our website click the link below.  If your booking was not made via our website please email the 3rd party you booked through and copy us in info@baxbymanor.co.uk

When is the food/pizza shack open?

For up to date opening times and menus please click the link below.
The Pizza Shack is open during the winter months, please contact Matt (contact details in the link below) to check times.

We would like a fire pit, will we be able to have one?

Yes, all pitches now have fire pits!

Music and noise policy

Please be aware that we have a very strict ‘10SEVEN’ policy. Please keep noise to an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM between the hours of 10pm and 7am.

TONE IT DOWN - TURN IT OFF!
If someone close-by is being unsociable please simply ask them to tone it down or turn it off!  The same rules apply to everyone!

For reasons mentioned above we ask that all music is played personally i.e. wear headphones 🎧

We all have different tastes in music. No one wants to listen to your music!

Group bookings

To preserve the tranquility at Baxby Manor we will accept up to a maximum of THREE pitches/units per group only. If we discover more than three bookings have been made they will be declined, or turned away on arrival with no refunds offered.

Is the campsite child friendly/safe?

Yes, provided common sense is used! There is plenty of open space on the campsite for your children to play safely under the watchful eye of responsible parents. However; there is an unfenced, open beck with deep pools and steep banks, and plus a disused railway embankment with steep, and hidden drop-offs running parallel to the campsite. Please do keep an eye on these areas.

We are due to arrive at The Hideaway within the next 14 days but the weather looks terrible can we move our booking to a later date?

I am afraid altering a booking within 14 days of your due date would be classed as a cancellation, with no refund offered, according to our Terms and Conditions.

Do you accept bookings for Hen/Stag parties?

Unfortunately not! Due to the nature of our campsite, we feel it is not the appropriate place for larger (and possibly noisier) groups.

Can I park next to my pitch?

In line with our environmental low impact policy, there are no hard-standings — all pitches are grass and cars are parked in designated areas. Parking areas are close (a few metres) to most pitches, and we provide wheelbarrows for your convenience.

Do we need to bring a torch?

Yes. There is minimal, subtle lighting outside on the site so that you can see the stars – bring a torch.

Do you have to pay to use the showers?

No, our showers are completely free to use at your leisure but be they do get a little busy in the peak times.
