The Hideaway is a small, relaxed and friendly campsite in the heart of North Yorkshire, that offers you chilled out camping and glamping that's in-tune with nature and doesn't cost the Earth. There are just 40 pitches in a 6 acre field, which nestles in the midst of our 110 acre farm, surrounded by trees and bounded on one side by a stream. It is off the beaten track, but only a stroll from the village of Husthwaite.
…if you appreciate nature and peacefulness off the beaten track…
...if you want to toast marshmallows on an open campfire whilst gazing at a sky laden with stars…
…if you want time to yourself to read your favourite book or watch the Kingfishers and the Otters.
The Hideaway@Baxby is a special, peaceful and restful place where you can spend precious days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A haven for walkers and cyclists, and a perfect base for exploring the many historic, cultural and outdoor attractions of this lovely part of Yorkshire. We are about camping, campfires, the countryside and getting away from it all.

These pitches beyond the orchard back on to the stream and are set amongst the native trees and grasses; a special place that has been untouched to encourage wildlife and ground-nesting birds. For this reason there are only five pitches for tents (no hook-ups). Otters and Kingfishers have been spotted from these pitches!
SAME SITE RULES FOR THE SANCTUARY!
(Eleven7 no noise and no amplified music)
BaxbyFest May 19th 2018
BaxbyFest is our annual acoustic music event, we have held it every year since we opened in 2012 and is very popular. There is no amplified music and it is just a handful of musicians (normally around six to ten) who come camping with their tents and musical instruments! Everyone is welcome to pull up a hay bale and sit around the campfire listening, singing or playing! Liza Jane, our resident vintage caravan kitchen will be open until late serving authentic stone-baked pizzas and gourmet hot chocolates. The cider making business from the village comes down and sets up a little bar. This happens at the bottom end of the site, on pitches T23-25 and goes on until around midnight. It is far from a raucous affair and is very family friendly.
If you play ANY sort of instrument please bring it along and join in, there is no playlist, its a very informal affair!
